Spring Training, Arizona
March 18-22 2005

Day 2 - Suprise, Arizona. Home of the Angels & Rangers.

(lt)Quick to rise in the morning to our lovely RV park where we miraculously only received one complaint from our neighbors. (rt)Approaching the stadium...

(lt) Pregame whiffle ball. (rt) The box office in front of the stadium.

(lt)The crew on the outfield lawn before the game. (rt)The field.

(lt) Our seats. The best part of the spring training games is that you are right up with the players; (rt) A view from behind home.

Yup.

   "The Crew's Crew."

There were 1400 little leaguers at the stadium for a ceremony. These guys became our crew. As Steve, Matt, & Jut hung out on the picnic tables tipping back a few they bought off these kids to "bring them girls" in exchange for money. The mini crew quickly returned with promises of Hooters waitresses, who eventually did come by. The highlight came when the mini crew apologized that there would only be 2 girls for the 4 guys to which Jut replied, "That's how we roll" which greatly repulsed the children.

The trip also coincided with the opening day of Squeegee, unofficially sponsored by Keystone Light. Of course, with such a sponsor it also led to the drunkest game of Squeegee in the history of the league.

As the day wore on Steve and Matt found themselves in a deep hole in the scoreboard and with little hope of making any plays with their drunken defensive skills, the team broke out with the never before seen "Ungenhauer" defense, modeled after our junior high classmate. Of course, such a brilliant technique limited the opposing batters little chance of success.

Eventually the game ended and we loaded up the RV to our next stop...
