Monteverde Cloud Forest: Dec 26 - 28

Ivan & I standing in front of our hotel in St. Elena/Monteverde, Hotel Heliconia.

Luckily for Ivan, the legal drinking age in Costa Rica ISN'T 21.

Guaro on it's own, pretty nasty, but in a tropical punch? Mmmm....

We all agreed that by far, the best food we tried was at Heliconia. Delicious pizza (surprisingly a very common dish!) and avocado with shrimp!

A group shot at the Monteverde Cloud Forest, prepared for the Sky Trek Canopy Tour.

Nervous (and scared of heights), but kinda excited.

We started by going up this stair tower which was pretty high and pretty frightening

Us with the main guide - who was excellent.

Group shot on a suspension bridge.

Getting read to hook my harness onto the cable.

Holding on and ready to go....

Sky Trek is a system of trails, suspension bridges, and zip lines. There are 11 total zip-line cables. The longest one (left) is 1,400 feet long, and the highest one (on the right) is 417 feet off the groud.

After the Sky Trek, we took it easy by taking the Sky Walk which consisted of trails and suspension bridges above and through the cloud forest.

Taking a break and watching the hummingbirds (notice the feeders in the background). A. Elaine and I; Jason and I.

Dad, Ivan, Mom, Me & Jas.

Sunset shot outside our hotel.
